Friday! Today was Noah’s last day at his job. He is pivoting slightly and starting fresh on Monday so we decided to go on a Friday date night to celebrate. We went to the Redmond Heritage Farm store for dinner. I love that place so much! It’s a little health and grocery store that sells raw milk and local produce with a cafe inside that serves home cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day long. The food is amazing and the environment is so fun.
Then we went up to Wallsburg and I lost to Noah in chess while we waited out a summer thunderstorm. When the sun started to peak through the clouds, we put on coats and hopped on the golf cart to get some fresh after-rain air. The earthy smell after rain is one of the simple things that makes life worth living.
We visited the cattle, fed the goats, and drove past the old pig pen while Noah told me the spooky story of the pig witch. It was such a perfect day and we left with a full carton of farm fresh eggs.
